Guachinches are a deeply rooted culinary and cultural tradition in the Canary Islands, especially in Tenerife. They are "restaurants" of Typical Canary Food that originally started in the homes of farmers and winemakers who wanted to sell their surplus homemade wine. To attract customers and make the wine more appealing, they began offering typical Canarian dishes at very affordable prices.
